Don McNeeley graduated from Florida Technological University (FTU), now called the University of Central Florida (UCF) in 1996 with a BA in Philosophy. After graduating he worked in medical field serving as a blood bank manager and as clinical laboratory technician until 1979 at which time he joined the United States Navy as a Supply Corps Officer, receiving his commission in March 1980. During his first six years of service, he served on and supported the submarine force on both coasts. In 19After attending the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) where he received his MS in Logistics Management in September 1988, he served on the faculty at AFIT rising to the rank of Assistant Professor of Logistics Management. Leaving AFIT, Don transitioned from “sub-surface” sea duties to “aviation” sea duties aboard the USS CARL VINSON. Don’s last tour in the United States Navy which started on March 1994 involved a transition from tactical support to naval units to a more operational and strategic support position at the Naval Operational Logistics Support Center (NOLSC) in Norfolk, VA, from which he retired in December 1999. During those final years in the Navy, Don was involved in the transportation and distribution activities supporting naval forces throughout the world providing transportation operations expertise, logistic system development, Supply Chain Management improvements, Continuous Process Improvements, and regional optimization actions all designed to increase the overall robustness of the Defense Transportation System (DTS). After his retirement, Don continued working for NOLSC in a variety of operational and strategic logistics positions as a contractor and in November 2005 he transitioned to a civil servant position at NOLSC where he is continuing to enhance the DTS.

Don McNeeley’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (2), Navy Commendation Medal (2), and Navy Achievement Medal (2).
